Members of Chemistry Club traveled to Chicago during spring break to visit two museums: the Field Museum of Natural History and The Museum of Science and Industry. The Field museum had a state of the art DNA research lab within the museum that walked visitors through the process of sequencing DNA. I found it very interesting because the exhibit explained techniques, such as purification and amplification, that I had done last year during the sequencing of our DNA. We also spotted some of the same instruments and equipment in the lab that we have in our labs here. Plus, there was a giant strand of DNA, so what could be cooler?!? -Krista
