Georgia is beginning her final summer of research, which feels especially bittersweet as she reflects on everything she has accomplished in the lab. The GRAB Lab’s most recent paper, featuring the work she has contributed over the past two years, is currently under review, while she has already moved on to developing the next origami project. Currently, she is focusing on annealing origami structures onto surfaces and (as shown) is experimenting with a wide variety of materials to determine which conditions work best. To do this, she programmed the oven to follow a temperature cycle like the one used in the thermocycler so she could test how effectively the origami anneals onto each surface. She is excited to continue exploring new approaches and hopes this project will help lay the groundwork for future discoveries in the lab.
